Subtle Sparkle!

And finally! I have one more creation to add to the challenges at Outlawz Challenges - Saturday paper a la mode.
The idea is to add some glitter - so I did but very subtly as I personally don't like too much bling!
In fact this is definitely a CAS style card but I think it is quite effective.

Cutie Mousie!

Hi Everyone!
Hope all you lovely Mums out there ( And even my lovely peeps who aren't Mums) had a fabulous weekend and even better Mothers Day.
I know I did! My 'better' half came home on Friday night and actually stayed all the weekend before leaving this morning for destinations unknown to me - I think Worcester might've been mentioned!!!
The weather yesterday was absolutely glorious so I helped his nibs empty the back of his van out so he could have a clear-out and tidy it up a bit! It took hours- especially when my daughter and her hubby borrowed it to drive to Stafford to pick up a buggy - NO! not a pram type buggy! That would be too simple. Oh no, they picked up a carting buggy - something to whizz around a carting track in!
The next-door neighbours' son earned some beer money as he cut the front and back lawns for us as our mower is deceased.
The saving grace of such a busy day was my Indian takeaway for tea! My daughter ordered and paid for it (a little treat for us all) so ended a tiring but fun day! My bed was very welcoming so I got in it at about 8.30!!!

I decided to enter the challenge at Digistamp Boutique Blog at  the last minute today! Had an idea so needed to go with it.
I covered the sentiment with acetate and attached a little acetate behind so it "jumps" out from the card!
Spectrum Noir markers were used on the flowers and pearlescent i-kandee chalks on the cute little mouse!
A little glamour dust was added for sparkle.

Happy 18th birthday!

Hi everyone,
No. I'm not digressing and wishing myself happy 18th birthday, I have completed a scrapbook page of my son's 18th last year which was on the same day as my daughters 'UK' wedding reception!
It seemed cost-effective to have them both at the same time rather than one after the other.
Anyway, yes, we're tight! HAhahaha - only kidding.
We'd just spent 2 weeks in Greece for the original wedding so I guess money was like water flowing through our fingers!!!
Thankfully it was all worth it - as was the UK party the week after we came home.

I followed the sketch at Scrapology - Theme follow sketch and/or Use your stash! I have loads of stash so it's no biggie to dig things out and stick 'em down!!!

I prefer to make a scrapbook page when I enter the sketch challenges - if I complete enough of them I might even finish my scrapbook!!! (don't hold your breath xxxx)

Sketches

Good morning all.
I hope you've all had your porridge or bacon sarnies this morning. I stick to porridge, it's supposedly healthier and keeps you fuller for longer...............yeah, right!!!
Anyhoo, it's a lovely day out there today but still very cold. The birdies are nesting in the trees and it's great watching them fluttering about doing whatever birdies do. I may have to pop out later on so I thought I'd pop my entry into the sketch challenge at Outlawz Challenges.

As I need to complete (for complete look under start!!!!)  my scrapbook, I thought it would be better to do a new page instead of a card....

Dotty!

Hi all,
Just a quick check-in, make sure you're all doing what you're supposed to be doing!!!
I've spent this morning rearranging all my ribbons - and as I have loads of ribbons in zillions of colours it became quite a task but I finally did it.....my way!
Anyhoo, after all that fun and frivolity (there is actually a sense of satisfaction when D I Y-ing and completing a task) I got down to brass tacks and found the Tuesday Colour Challenge at -
 Outlawz Challenges.
The twist was to make a card suitable for a boy using the colour palette chosen by the DT.
I went with circles! Or bubbles or whatever you choose for them to be!
I selected all the relevant colours, punched different sized circles and mounted them onto sticky foam so they stood proud of the card, and eventually made a very CAS card with them.
For the greeting, I glued individual letters to a piece of acetate which I attached to the card front quite simply,

I like it and I think any boy would like it too as it's not girly or sissy!!!

Blue?

Hi all!
Hope you've not all got the monday morning blues...or afternoon blues as it's now 2.34pm!
I was up and out early as I went to the dentist with my son and his appointment was 9am, followed by a light breakfast at The Leyland Lion (Wetherspoons) and 2 coffees - which helped wake me up!!!
Since coming home I've managed to make a little card for the Monday Greetings challenge at Outlawz Challenges.
The challenge is to add texture, (and a greeting of course!) so I have! I've used embossing on the paper, ribbon and lace aswell as gemstones - all different types of texture.

Quite looking forward to it actually :)

Anyhow, onto the business of the day!
I bought this image of Birthday Milly from -Pink Gem Designs who do have a fab selection of digital images to purchase and download.
I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs  she is so sweet!

Hello again!
I've been as busy as possible today making the following card for entry into oodles of challenges!

Sadly I didn't make a note of the pens I used but there were about 5!!!

As you all know by now I actually enjoy colouring images and this was no different! It's a lovely image and I hope everyone else likes it too!

Frustration!

Good day peeps,

Don't know about you but i found myself really frustrated yesterday as I could only manage to make 1, yes one, card for a challenge. I do try and aim for 2 (doesn't always happen!) and normally I don't mind only managing one as I've usually been doing other things. Sometimes other things NOT in my craft-room (for craft-room look under "spare back bedroom!").
Who invented housework anyhow? And who thought it would be a good idea to give the human race dust? By the time I've managed to dust around the living room etc, the dust seems to be settling back where I started from!!!
It really is a thankless and worthless task.
Love hoovering tho!!!!
Anyhoo, I'm hoping to get some craft done today. Might even carry on with the scrapbooking - Lord only knows what today will bring so........bring it on!

CAS

G'morning everyone!
I haven't been to my blog for a couple of days - couldn't be bothered!!!! Only joking. I decided to organise files on my computer and it took forever!
Anyway, things are sorted now so it makes life easier for finding things instead of bookmarking everything and putting them in the wrong folders!
Yesterday I had a mojo-less day til late in the afternoon. I decided to enter the challenge at -

Cas - Colours and Sketches - #65

This is my entry :

Coffee?

Good morning peeps!
Another beautiful day! ~Too cold to sit out in the sunshine though, which is just as well as I only realised yesterday that I no longer have any garden chairs! You know the ones I mean - green, plastic, tacky?
Yep, those! Not that I'm bothered just yet but I do know my daughter has 2 in her garden and the other 2 (there were 4 originally) have been damaged over the winter in the winds, so I might have to go on a rescue mission and 'steal' em back from her!
Or I could just go out and buy 4 more!!!! I'll wait for 'him who works' to come home and we can go and buy some together - Aaaaaah, I hear you say....no it's not a romantic thing to do. I don't drive and I'm not carrying chairs home either!
He does have his uses, bless!!!
On to todays mission - well, I made a card last night for a challenge at Outlawz challenges - coffee & friends

Sunny Tuesday Morning!

Hi all.
Well, I didn't quite get around to posting anything else on here on Sunday or even yesterday (monday!).
So I am going to make up for it today by sharing 2 cards with you which I have made to enter a couple of challenges.
This first one I am entering into the challenge at Outlawz Challenges - Alcohol markers challenge
as I used my fave Spectrum Noir markers for the yellows and outling the bee and wording in black.
I think this little bumble bee is uber cute! I bought the image from Pink Petticoat as there are some really cute images for sale (i've bought quite a few!!!!)

Sweet Bee!

My second card is fun and funky! I subscribe to a site called Paperprintables where I found this fab scooter to print out.
I coloured this with Spectrum Noir and layered it onto generic paper and card.
I'm entering this one into the challenge again at Outlawz Challenges - CAS Sunday
I hope it fits the criteria - there is alot of 'white' space and minimal embellishments.

Sunday x

Good morning everyone. :)
I hope you are all well and feeling great on this rather overcast sunday morning.
We had a fab time with our second Christmas day yesterday. The restaurant San Marco really does deserve a link in this blog! It was brilliant!!!
It is the second time I've eaten there and both occasions have been marvellous. Can not fault them at all. The food was delicious, served promptly and the staff are so attentive. Wonderful.
After indulging my very naughty appetite (The Diet God will be aiming his sword of fury right at me right now!) we left and headed back to my daughters house for Christmas drinks, games and nibbles later on.
Pass the parcel went down well!!!!
It was so much fun but we didn't quite get around to playing charades as we all talked so much that time slipped happily by and all of a sudden, it was time for bed! Some of our party needed their bed more than others and they are paying for it this morning!!!! Hahahahaha x
I must admit, I feel absolutely drained - rich food and extremely potent cocktails do take their toll on my already knackered body and even though i wasn't at all drunk I wish I had been then I'd have something to blame this tiredness on!!!
Never mind!
I'm off to make a coffee so I will pop by and write a few more pithy offerings later.

Thank you!

Friday at last eh?

Hi everyone!

Hope you all have stuff planned this weekend - for a change, I do!
As you may remember my mentioning it in another post, we are having Christmas again tomorrow!
So looking forward to it!  Expecially the lunch at San Marco - simply gorgeous food!
I've baked the cake, iced and decorated it, made mince pies (half already eaten) and wrapped a pass the parcel up for a party game!!!
Yes, we will also be playing charades!
Christmas isn't Christmas without charades and plenty of booze to make you think you're the best actor on earth and deserve all the Oscars!!!

So, for today, here is my card for the challenge over at CAS- Colours and Sketches #64

Ladybugs!

Good morning all,
Today has been much quieter than yesterday - thank goodness! Don't think I could cope with another one like that for a while!
I sat down this morning to make another CAS card.
This time it is for the challenge at Outlawz challenges - Ladybugs which I follow on my blog.

Busy Day

Good evening everyone.

I have had what I call "a hell of a day"!!! It all started when I got up this morning - things usually do - and the Virgin media engineer called to say he was on his way. He arrived at 9.30 and left at 12 after instaslling a whole new TV, phone and internet package (got fed up with SKYs ridiculous prices).
Everything worked well until I tried to use their Anywhere app on my laptop - NO GO, OH NO!!!
I rely on my laptop for absolutely everything. Not having access to things on here would be like a kid losing their mobile - tragedy!)
I don't usually lose mobiles.........I tend to wash them................Alot..........(hmmmmm)
Anyhoo, as i couldn't access what I wanted I thought I'd do some housework starting with hoovering in Marks room. Big mistake - I realised he was right in one thing - his room's not untidy - just extremely dusty and in need of a spring clean. So I did.
Two hours later, all finished. Starving, thirsty and I know I did too much cos everything hurts :(
After that, the technician rang and we sorted out the laptop (yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!) but then I had to spend ages hunting for accomodation for his nibs for this evening and for trains and coaches for his 'hoppo' for tomorrow - Aylesbury to Glasgow? Guess how much on the train......Go on, guess.

ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY ONE POUNDS!!!!

I kid you not!
How utterly disgusting is that? Totally and utterly ridiculous. No wonder the trains are struggling.

( So the fella will be on a coach! Alot cheaper! )

Eventually, and by that i mean at about half 4 (it's now 6.09pm), I actually sat down and finished the cards I started last night!

And here they are in all their glory!

I'm entering the first one into the challenges at -

RELAX

So, onto the next one!

This card is being entered into this challenge :

Mojo Monday Sketch 335

GOOD LUCK

Top 3!

Hi peeps!
Well, what a lovely surprise to find I'd been selected as a Top 3 runner up in the challenge over at Without Words. My card was my 'teacher' which I made last month!
It does give such a satisfying feeling when something  you've made is highlighted, even if it isn't the winner!
It doesn't matter. Entering in the hope it will be liked is fun enough, winning is a bonus.
Have been out for breakfast this morning with sis-in-law Theresa. Had a bit of shopping to do then came home made a pasta bake for dinner, prepared a batch of pancake batter and made a Christmas cake which is now cooking in the oven!
We are having a Christmas day re-run on saturday and we are all looking forward to the fun!
Last Christmas was a little muted due to a death in the family so....roll on saturday! Wish we were having presents again too! x

Hoping to pop back here later with some sort of creation or other. I never know just where my mojo will take me!!!

Scrapbooking

Good afternoon everyone.
Today - a most beautiful sunny day here in the NW of England - I thought it might be a good idea to make a scrapbook page for my 2013 album for a change. I've been trying to complete it bit by bit and it's going VERY slowly!
Then I found a challenge on Feeling Sketchy #83 and decided not only to make the page, I can enter it into the challenge too! Result :)

Here it is!

Mad March...

Happy Saturday everyone!
Now that the weekend is here I hope you've all got plans to do something fab!
Let's hope that spring is truly just around the corner. If the weather here is anything to go by then spring cannot be very far away. The last few days have been really lovely. Cold but sunny and bright!

Today I made a mothers day card for these challenges

Scrapology - Mothers Day/Special Lady
Just Inspirational - Hearts and ribbon
Cardmaking and Papercraft - Mothers Day

I have tried to keep it CAS (clean and simple). Half way through colouring the stamp I decided less is more; too much bling would be offensive to the eye!!!
