Hot hot hot!

Good afternoon my lovely peeps!
I have had a really lazy day today as I'm still pooped from the weekend and it's another lovely summers day here.
I've managed to make a card today which is lovely and bright, just like the view from my window! Plus, the hot colours bring summer holidays to mind and I'm really looking forward to mine.
I used a From The Heart Stamps image for this card and coloured it with Spectrum Noir markers.
I used a circle die to cut the coloured circles and an embossing folder to create texture.
I added a fabric daisy and a red gemstone to finish it off.

The challenges I'm entering it into are :-

Crafty Girls Challenges - Anything Goes
Outlawz Challenges - Greetings Card Challenge
Graphit Colour Challenge - wk26

Winner!

Hi all.
Well, what a lovely busy weekend it has been.
My son is 19 today and he had a party with his friends here last night which we (me, partner, daughter and her husband) crashed at about midnight! Had lots of fun and everyone was a little delicate this morning!
Still, it didn't stop us going to the car boot for some bargains first thing.
Had alot of housework to sort out too after last night! We all went out for a lovely meal with family and friends this afternoon and. as the weather was lovely all day, we sat in the sun for a little then after the meal we all came home for birthday cake and coffee!
And now I'm pooped! Lying in bed, typing up this post and watching football!
So, I have just realised I've won another challenge this week - this time at thatscraftychallenges.blogspot.co.uk - which is lovely! A prize is always welcome, along with the knowledge that you must be in it to win it!
Happy Sunday eve peeps,

Hey again!
Have just finished a card I've made for these challenges :

Pile It On #25 - Cute - can't get much cuter than Polly~!
613 Avenue Create #77 Anything goes / Pink - pink within the paper and embellies
Use Your Stuff - #141 Texture - Fabric pink floral ribbon
Melonheadz friends - Use a kid image/For kids - Polly
Crafting From The Heart #24 - Anything Goes

I haven't had much time to make lovely things today as I've spent the bulk of the day photographing and listing items on ebay - 35 altogether!
My wardrobe has been full of lovely things which I just don't wear anymore and it seemed daft to have them hanging around collecting dust so------ebayed!!!
So now I'm pooped and I'm off to bed!

Kraft card Hanglar Stanglar!

Hello all!
Don't be put off by the title! I'm just referring to the card I made yesterday for the challenge at : -
Lovely Hanglar or Sweet Magnolia blogspot #97 Use Kraft card

I like these images. I think they are well drawn and are very clear for colouring. In other words, they're not too fussy with lots of lines which get in the way of shading.

Here's my little girl with strawberry!

Sunny Monday

Hello peeps
This is my 2nd post of the day - my 1st post was a scrapbook page which you can have a look at if you check the left hand side bar (that's where I list my pages!)
I made an uber cute card yesterday and had to finish it today as the world cup footy got in the way. No, not my other half jumping up and down you might think, but......me! I'm an utter sports fan! If it moves, watch it!!!!
So, lately I've watched a lot of sport but done less crafting (my bad) :(
But, here I am going on and you haven't seen the card yet - what am I like?

Isn't she cute?

I used an image from Lacy Sunshine stamps which I was fortunate enough to win in an earlier challenge.
Spectrum Noir markers
Martha Stewart punch
Fiskars punch
Generic paper, ribbon and bling
Mulberry paper flowers
Pink glitter

I'm entering the following challenges :

Such fun!

Happy friday peeps!
Have been so poorly this last few days with the dreaded lurgy - a stinker of a cold!
So if you'd like to feel sorry for me then now is the time!!!
However, I still find the energy to log on to my blog and fill you lovely people in on my recent activity. No, I haven't actually made anything new (due to feeling like melted wax) but I do have some fab news!
I have agreed to join the Design Team on Scrapbooker phd which is a fab papercrafting blog run by a very nice lady called Faith with several DT members on board.
I found the site by accident when I was rooting around the web looking for lovely challenge websites and up popped this one,so now I'm very happy to be invited to join the team.
Have a look over at the sidebar where I am displaying my DT badge with pride :)

I have lots to do over the next few days so I need to crack on with more challenges and to enter the new one on Scrapbooker phd which has only just started!

Winner and DT invites

Hi all.
Have had some more lovely news lately - I have won another challenge at The Outlawz Challenges for May - which is utterly fab! Also, I've been invited to join the Design Team at Friday Sketch Challenge and Crafty Creations Challenges!
Who's going to be a busy bee then?
Hahahaha!

I must admit, I do love being asked to join Design Teams! I enjoy the challenges it brings and it also helps me spread my wings in the crafty world because, as everybody knows, I'm such a shy, wallflower type and I need 'bringing out of my shell',,,,,,yeah right!
But it really does help me spread those wings because I'm relatively new to all this blogging and craft stuff. I wish I'd found it years ago. It amazes me how some people have being doing what I do for donkeys years! I didn't even realise this craft world existed - Wow!
And, I fell upon it by accident too. I was looking for something to do, other than cooking, after I finished working and found a couple of pinterest pages where people had made things from paper; bunting, boxes etc. So. I did some papercrafting too and totally loved it. I have never looked back.
I did art at high school and also at college but left it behind for one or two (MANY) years; but, now I'm back on track and I'm learning things all the time. I'm also finding that, in cardmaking, there are numerous techniques which can be used but some I just don't like and others I adore. Even the products I use can be loved or not! for example, I love the CAS style of cards and the Lili Of The Valley stamps. In digital stamps, one of my faves is the range at 'From The Heart Stamps' and there are loads and loads of websites/blogs which give different views on products and techniques.

All in all, there's so much going on in blogland/craft challenge land at the moment that some days I find it really hard to get excited about housework.

And. on that note, I am going to watch the football (Russia v S Korea - world cup from Brazil) and nurse what I think is going to be a rotten cold because I can feel it building up into something horrid!

Jewellery/Anything box!

Happy Tuesday peeps!!!

I have just enough time to write this post before I go to the hygienist at the dentist. I really do not like going there because they usually leave me in discomfort for an hour or two :( I am such a wuss!!!

I found a great challenge on Stampotique Designers Challenge - boxes - and made this jewellery/bit bob box.
I have made a couple of these before and I actually have one here in my craft room which I use every day. Each drawer has small things in it- eg, pins and needles, paperclips, brads etc....
I do enjoy making these boxes. They can be one layer or two layers or whatever you fancy really.
I printed the template from a CD I have by Debbi Moore Designs and, once I'd 'built' it I covered it with the Joanna Sheen "A little bit oriental" paper collection. For the top, I used the co-ordinating stamp set which I heat embossed then picked out little elements of the design with white and pink marker pens.
I made the little drawer knobs from an old necklace!!! Talk about upcycling!
I fed each bead onto black cotton and, with a needle, I attached them to the drawer fronts!
I love the sentiment too - 'In the Cherry Blossom's shade, there is no such thing as a stranger'. Very deep.
Phew!
So, here we are. One finished box which I am sure I will add to over the next few days as new ideas pop in!

Here it is....

Forty Shades of.......brown!

Hello everyone.
I'm currently sitting by my craft-room window watching the rain hurtling down and the thunder is just so loud!!! Nature is incredible!
It's very warm today so thunder doesn't surprise me but what does surprise me is the fact that we have had thunder on and off for the past three days which is unusual. I do believe the stories about global warning are very true. As we often say ...."summer wasn't like this in my day!"....lol

Now, down to business! I began making this card last night and I'm entering it into the challenge at The Outlawz - Monochromatic.
For some reason, brown has always, and still is, my "Go-To-Colour" whether I'm drawing, decorating or choosing clothes!!!
There is alot of choice with brown as there are numerous shades and it's a fab colour to work with. So, this is my entry :

Items used : Spectrum Noir markers
                   LOTV stamp
                   Kraft card
                    Papermania ribbon
                    Martha Stewart punch
                    Sentiment stamp from Anita's crafts
Generic paper, pearls, flowers and hat pin.
