More stuff!

Good afternoon all!

A quick post today just to bring you up to date with my efforts this week!

I have made 2 cards , both of which I'm entering into the challenge at Cardmaking and Papercraft.
This is an online challenge with a different theme each month and I almost missed it as the closing date is tomorrow!!!

My first card is a 5x7 card.
I created a background with die-cut roses adhered to a slightly smaller white card panel, which I then coloured by blending distress inks all over it.
I added a fishtail banner with  a "Thankyou" die-cut adhered to the front and printed "Spring" onto some white card in lilac ink, A few inked flowers and a butterfly, with pearl drops dotted around finished the  whole card.

My second card is a Tiddly Inks digital stamp, which can be purchased direct from the webstore here.
I coloured it with Spectrum Noir markers then created a frame by using a square stitched edge die and some fussy cutting to anchor the image to the inside of the frame.
I layered this onto spotty paper and pink card. and added some sequins, butterflies and flowers for decoration.

That's all I have time for today folks!

Have a great weekend x

Pretty cards and stuff!

Good morning all!
So, I know I've been away for a few weeks (mea culpa...:( ) but I really do have a fab excuse - NOT!
Seriously tho, I have been crafting and making a few bits and bobs but my mind has been kind of elsewhere because, currently, the builders are here making a whopping great building site out of what used to be a kitchen/dining/utility area!!!
Here are a couple of pics for you to see the kind of mess our downstairs is!

So we don't have a kitchen and we won't have until the building work's finished and a new kitchen is chosen and delivered - scary times, but at least we'll have somewhere to cook, wash clothes etc etc! The launderette, and the microwave are busy at the mo!

So, onto the cutesy stuff.

I've made a couple of birthday cards and I've been published in Papercraft Inspirations every month for the last 6 as part of the Reader Design Team but I keep forgetting to post them here!

This is a card I made for my bro-in-law as it was his birthday at the beginning of Jan.
I used the fabulous Sheena stamps which came with my subscription of Creative Stamping magazine.

My next card was for my pal in Zante. Her birthday is tomorrow but I had to post it ages ago as the post on the Greek islands is notoriously slow!

I saw something very similar on Pinterest and decided to CASE it (which means copy and share everything) but, I can't find the original post now so....I'm sorry :( but I would have given the credit if I could. I obviously tweaked it (as you do!).

Here's my latest card made for the RDT of PIN mag (as mentioned earlier).
I had a set of printable images to work with and I came up with a stepper card so I could make it into a little dimensional garden.

As far as the creativity goes, that's all for now folks!
I'm trying to arrange my cutting dies into some kind of order and I now wish I hadn't started :(
I can't believe how many I actually have and I don't think I use over half of them!

I'll keep you posted on the kitchen thing as I'm off out now for some lunch with a friend of mine who is also going through a house move so I can imagine we'll have quite a stressed conversation today!

Happy (Belated!) New Year Everyone!!!

Well, Hi de hi and happy new year and all that to you all!

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
I did, although, if I'm to be honest, I do thank heavens that it's all done for another year!
There's just so much running around to be done at the moment with moving into this house that we (I) just didn't feel festive enough this year so I'm crossing fingers, toes, eyes and anything else that next Christmas will be much easier!
The darling daughter and her hubby had a week in Cape Verde just before Christmas and only returned home at 5am Christmas Day morning! I did that parent thing and listened out for them coming in!!! Though I did go back to sleep for a couple of hours and then waited for everyone else to get up and celebrate Christmas with me............which was another 4 hours!!! To be fair, even though the day started late with present giving and eating Christmas dinner, I think the travelling twosome did really well to keep their eyes open until we all filed off to bed at around midnight. If it had been me, I reckon I'd have been asleep for 8pm!
So, the house? Well, it's currently being knocked about by the builders who came in a week ago to redevelop the kitchen/dining/utility areas. There's not as many walls or ceilings as there were a month ago, and with the weather being typically freezing and British, we are living like Eskimos!

Anyhoo, let's stop banging on about my stuff and talk about my stuff!!!!

I've not done as much crafting as I'd like lately. Some of it because the craftroom isn't how I want it, some because I've not had much time and a little because I've had no love for creating at the moment.
So, to inject some mojo into my soul, my OH and I took a trip to that well known Swedish homeware store and purchased some shelving and wall units and, yesterday, he put the wall units up so things are beginning to come together. Which is nice! When the shelves go up I'll be able to sort out my boxes of stash (currently being stored in the airing cupboard - as you do) and organise myself much better. I'll post some piccies when it's done.

I have, however, made a few little bits and bobs since Christmas - just to keep my hand in, so to speak!

I decided to make something a little different as I'm so fed up with Christmas cards!
So, I went with this box frame card using the Fairie Dust collection by Graphic 45.
Just by fussy-cutting, layering and adding some die cut flowers and swirls, I think it's come out pretty well!
It's also the sort of card I can use for any occasion, not just a birthday.

This next one is a card I made for fun too but this is definitely a birthday card and most useful for a male recipient. (I have one in mind!)

I used free stamps which came with this months Creative Stamping magazine (iss 52) and they're by Sheena Douglass, so win-win all round!

Anyhoo, I think I've waffled on enough for today and, as it's taken me about 5 hours to finish this post (I forgot about it), I'm happy to walk away knowing it's done and I'll sleep tonight....Lolz !!!

So 'til next time -
