Coffee Time ..

Morning all.
Just a quick post today (it kinda makes up for the last long-winded one!) and this is all about joining in with a blog-hop over at Coffee Loving Cardmakers . When I find an interesting and fun blog I keep an eye on what's happening there and when something like this comes up, then who am I not to play along?
There's always a chance of winning prizes too on a hop of this size so let's get on with it and show you the card I made for it :-

Told you it was a quick one today!

Things to do, places to go, people to see and all that!
Have a good one x

Phew!

Hi all!
Firstly, I'll apologise for the length of this blog post! There's lots to say today!!!
It has been a very busy week or two here and I've found it hard to craft as the sun has been shining continuously for weeks........
Just to prove I DO go for a walk in the sun to the local park occasionally!!!
.......and I just can't seem to pry myself out of the garden or the park and into the cool craftroom . It looks like we won't be going away this year (his nibs surgery will put a stop to that methinks!) so I have to make up for the lack of sun, sea and sand by being outside as often as I can be. The tan is coming along nicely and I'm lucky I tan quickly too because the UK isn't well known for long hot summers so I'm making hay while the sun shines!!!
Anhyhoo, I've managed to win the competition at Cardmaking and Papercraft with my Unicorn card (see earlier blog post or just follow the link). They sent me a lovely prize too - a whopping Hunkydory pack of goodies which I'm sure will come in handy at some point!!!
I've also had a card featured in Papercraft Inspirations issue 179 (July)  as part of the reader tester team. This one is for a new baby and if you like the printables, you can download, print and use them as often as you'd like from here new baby printables or by visiting the website Papercraft Inspirations magazine.

I used my own stash of cardstock, gems and distress inks to create my card and fussy cut lots of the printable shapes .

Last week, my daughter started a new job - Yaaaaaayyyy!!!! and I made her this card to brighten her day (and her desk!).

To make this I used white cardstock as a base with a stitched inward scallop (!) square die which I bought online for the frame.
I created the background with several shades of blue distress ink , some water spray for the bleach effect and  I then stencilled over it all with a Versamark clear glue pad and added mica powder to make it shimmer.  I had the flowers, jar and flower stem stamps in my stash and I've no idea where I got them sorry. I coloured them with Spectrum Noir pens and added some gems to finish.
I think it made a lovely card even if I do say so myself!!!

I'm pretty sure there are other things to waffle on about here but I can't remember right now what they are. I guess, I'll sign off, publish this then remember straight away...............or at 3am in the morning when I sit bolt-upright in bed with thoughts of my week!!!

Have a great Bank Holiday Monday holiday (here in the UK tomorrow!!!)
- and don't forget to leave some lovely words in the comments box - I'd love to get in touch with you all. :)

And so it continues.....!

Hi all.
Well, as you may have noted, or not (!), I have been absent for a while!
this is mainly due to "his nibs" being home and keeping me distracted and out of the craft room as he recovers from his attack.
He is still waiting for surgery but, we believe it may be in the next couple to 3 weeks from now.
There's so much stress for him at the moment because he isn't working and he must give up smoking.
The not-smoking is going to be really hard for him. I know this because I also gave up 6 years ago and, although I'd kill for a cig some days, I was determined, and still am, to be a non-smoker.
He, on the other hand, is less determined! He's having this decision forced on him as his heart disease will be caused by smoking and my choice was just that - my own choice. But, he's trying so kudos to him for that and it's early days so my fingers are crossed that he'll manage it without any more nagging from us!

Anyhoo,
The craftroom.
Yes, I've not spent too much time in here at all because of one thing and another but, true to form, I've still got my project in my fave Papercraft Inspirations magazine this month (issue 178).

A couple of piccies here for you to gloss over -

Although my photos aren't too good (lolz) I think you get the idea!

I made my card using the Hobby Art stamps - vintage plonk! along with gold embossing powder which might not be too obvious here but honest, I did!!!

Buy the mag and have a look at all the fab makes as usual including these stamps by the RDT and the Design team!

So, do you remember me mentioning (once or twice) that I'd applied to Craftstash Uk for the design team? Well, I've since made my first project for them! I can't show it to you all just yet but I will once It's on show as a project.

For now, you''ll have to be content with my "llama" card for our friends birthday this week. He'll be 45 and I know he isn't looking forward to it at all so I hope the card puts a smile on his grizzly chops!!!

Here's a little Unicorn card I made using generic stamps and dies which I bought online at Aliexpress.com.
It takes so long for my delivery to arrive that by the time it does, it's like Christmas every day when the postie brings my goods and I've utterly forgotten what I ordered in the first place!!! Happy days!!!

Hope you have a fab week.
I'm all over the place at the moment and can't manage to string two ideas together so if I don't get back to you soon.......................I probably lost my marbles and you can find me in the next hospital bed to my other half!!!
