New Challenge - Feline!

Good afternoon everyone.

Today I have a tag which I made for the challenges at
That's Crafty Challenges
Show us your pussies

The theme is "feline" so I used this cute cat image and added it to a die-cut vellum tag then onto a die-cut tag base!

The products I've used for this tag are :-
Teal cardstock
Rare Earth Vellum
Cosmic Shimmer Mister Sprays
Stencils (unbranded
Wow gold embossing powder
Docrafts stamps
Tag dies - stitched edges (unbranded)
Ranger liquid pearls (black)
Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

Hope you like this one - I'm not used to mixed media so it's like dipping my toe in the water at the moment!

I should have more challenge makes and commission makes to show you soon so take care and have a good week :)

Saturday (busy day!)

Hi all!
So, true to form, I've been missing and neglecting my blog yet again!

I just don't have the time I thought I had to give my attention to it - Ooops!
Next report will say "must try harder!"s - although I'm sure I've used that excuse once already.....

Anyhoo, this is just a quick update :-

I've started an Instagram page where I can post photos of all my makes, Pinterest boards too, and I'm trying to create a Facebook page with all my crafty stuff on.
The trouble is, it's all so time-consuming and I'm hoping to find somebody who can just link everything together so I don't have to post to different sites all the time.
I haven't actually checked if this is possible yet but I'm sure to find out sooner or later!!!

As far as the crafting goes? Yes. I've been busy again!

May is always a busy month for birthdays in my world and I've lots to be getting on with and I've now got a commission to make a wedding card too - which would be simple if it were out of my head but.....this card must be made in a certain way, with certain colours and....well, you know the score! I've got to think of something which covers all bases and make everybody happy! I'm sure I will and I'll post it when it's done.

We came home from our hollibob 2 weeks ago (almost) and last weekend was another busy, boozy one for the daughters birthday.
A great time was had by all (22 peeps attended a fab day out) and the cocktail class for 15 of us was great fun. I had to pace myself though as the cocktails can go down so easily and the bubbles go to the head too quick - as I've found out on many occasions......

However, this weekend, I'm being good and I decreed that not a drop of alcohol will pass my lips until next weekend and so far? SO GOOD!!!!

Down to business - Here's a selection of my latest makes :

Both of these I made after I saw a tutorial on the background on Fiskarettes UK facebook page.
I love inky backgrounds and I liked how the designer used fineliner to highlight it.

I used free stamps from Creative Stamping magazine (a couple of issues back) to create both of these which I entered into the online  Sweet Treats Challenge at CardmakingandPapercraft.com.

This card was made because I had some time to spare! I just wanted to use my Xcut flamingo die and so I did!

I'm sure I've missed some out but when I remember what they were I'll post them for you to check out!

Have a fab weekend

Pre-holiday uploads!

Good afternoon/morning/evening etcetera!!!

Hoping all you lovelies are doing well today.

I'm busy packing as we're off on a little "jolly" tomorrow so I thought I'd better find 5 minutes just to upload a few pictures of my most recent makes.

With Easter just in the recent past, I made this card for my daughter and her husband as neither of them wanted (or were getting) an Easter egg this year! lol x

I used an image by From The Heart Stamps - love their stuff, and the designer, Faith, is inspirational.
I kept this one simple and fun :)

My next Easter card was entered into a challenge over at Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.
I created an Easter egg wreath with little eggs!

My final Easter themed "make" was this little birdhouse (which I bought for just 50p in the Christmas sale at The Range!!!)
I altered it with Carta Bella Moments and Memories paper pack. Once all the little eggs and bunny have been eaten, it could be used with a little electric tea-light inside.

My sister in law had a birthday this week so I made this cute butterfly "cut-out" card for her.
I inked the background with soft coloured distress inks before stamping a few little patterns on with contrasting colours. After splashing with a little water and a glitter pen, I added a few pearls which I coloured with alcohol markers to match the inked background.

And finally!!!

This card is for another challenge at Cardmaking and Papercraft magazines which is all about baking.
As I'm pushed for time this week, I made something simple and cute!
I used Lawn Fawn stamps with a picture frame die and layered the fussy cut images onto my inked background with 3d foam tape.

So, that's my lot for now!

I hope you all have a safe and happy week as I'll be sunning myself on my favourite Greek island and all thoughts of crafts and cardmaking will be...............STILL IN MY HEAD!!!

Once a crafter, ALWAYS a crafter!

Happy Days everyone,

Lesley xxx
