Tiddly Inks challenge #208

Hi all!

It's time for another fun challenge over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and it's time  to kick back, put on the thick festive socks and get your christmas on!!! the Tiddly Inkers want you to...

Be Merry!!

 So think christmas holiday fun!

(**remember...We love to see any new creation, a card, 3D project, journal page etc
but you must use a Tiddly Inks stamp or image **)

Here's the card I made for this challenge :

I used Cocoa wishes Wryn sitting in front of a roaring fire with her little Robin friend and a leafy Christmas tree!
The fireplace and tree stamps are by Wild Rose Studio and they were free with Creative Stamping magazine recently. Awesome stamps too!
I coloured everything with Spectrum Noir and Tonic Nuvo markers.

I hope you find time to join in with the challenge (just follow this link!).

The DT always produce amazing cards for your inspiration too!

Have a great day.

FAB-ulous Friday!

Good morning all!

I hope you're all having the most fabulous morning up to now because, if you're not, then how about popping over to the Tiddly Inks blog and having a crafty look at all the fabulous Fab Friday DT makes?
This is definitely going to cheer you all up and hopefully inspire you to get out your colouring pens and have some "colouring-therapy" time.
I always look forward to our Fab Fridays, and of course to the challenges too. They inspire me to think a little more creatively and this week has been no exception.
Christy (Tiddly Inks owner/artist/designer etc!) wondered about combining digi images to make a whole picture. So I did!
This little card is made with a background of these cute cactus PNG files and overlaying these adorable hedgehogs over the top before printing the scene off.

How cute is this?

I have overlaid images before, but not with Tiddly Inks digis and I'm so glad I did!

I love this little card and I even left it on the Other Half's pillow for him to take note (and admire of course!) .

Apart from the fab digis, I've only used cardstock, patterned paper, pierced edge rectangle dies, alcohol markers and a few gems.

So, pop on over and have a peep!

Enjoy your day

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Hi all!
Recently, my daughter asked if I would make a card for her Godson, Ethan, who was 2 years old and he absolutely adores trains so I couldn't have chosen a better image than this one!
His title is The Conductor and he's available at my favourite digi store Tiddly Inks.

I used a digital paper pack which I found on Etsy. Here's the link Erin Bradley designs.

As Ethan is only 2, I made the card A5 size (nice and big!) and decided not to add too many dimensional embellishments as he'd probably pull them off - as littlies tend to do!!!

Here it is in all its' glory!

Apart from the digital purchases, I have used an alphabet die set for the name in generic coloured cardstock and several stars in glitter card.
My usual Spectrum Noir and Tonic Nuvo pens are used for colouring.
I did stamp some little "screw" heads using free stamps from Creative Stamping mag some time ago.

Hope you like it and I hope Ethan loves it too!

......and back to normal!

Hi all!

At last it feels like normality has somewhat resumed.
Jane has gone off to that there London area to visit her son, then her Mum and lots of other family I expect so I have managed to spend a little time back in my craftroom.
I decided to get back into the swing of things by entering the online challenges over at Cardmaking and Papercraft.

I already had a little card made for the October online challenge as it's one which I made for Papercraft Inspirations magazine a couple of months ago. I decided it would suit the challenge beautifully!

Then I did become creative!
This Christmas card has been entered into the Festive Feast challenge (same link as above).
I had to purchase the lovely Christmas Recipes from Lili of the valley stamps and I wanted to use a Christmas pudding on the front of the card so I found an image online, kinda copied it (rubbish at drawing sometimes!) then coloured it with my "NEW" spectrum noir markers!
( I treated myself to a set of new pens for my birthday!!!)

And there you have it! My first card of the week with a little Christmas sparkle thrown in too!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. I'm just about to tuck into a selection of veggie curries and sides, courtesy of my veggie son-in-law! Yum :)

Shocks and surprises!

Hi all!
Well, this weekend was a huge success after all!
I had the most amazing surprise when, on Saturday afternoon, my bezzie pal from Greece walked into my room with no warning she was coming!
I was so shocked I couldn't speak for ages (which is uber strange for me!) and finally, when I did, it was a stream of curse words aimed at my family for keeping her visit a secret!!!
Apparently, this surprise had been planned since August and, even when I went to Zante to visit her in September, not a single hint, tip, word was spoken about her coming to the UK and EVERYBODY knew!!! Amazing!
So, we had a fabulous party night out on saturday night and she didn't leave until last night. We've been out for dinner, coffee, breakfasts.....yadeyadeyada!!!
Now, I'm coming back down to earth and I miss her already. She does make me laugh so much!

(I've added a lovely pic of us both on our "woodland adventure" walk yesterday :) )

I haven't had any time whatsoever to create anything at all for the last few days and today is no exception as I'm going out for a birthday lunch with another friend in a short while!
I hope to be back in the craftroom creating and making very soon.

Til then, have a nice day!

Happy Saturday folks!

Hi all.

At last it's the weekend and the fun begins!
I had a birthday during the week and the festivities will commence this evening as I'm off out with my loved ones and bezzie pals for a cocktail night at a swanky bar in a nearby town.
So looking forward to it! Get the hair done this morning, glad rags and lippy on later and off out to paint the town red, blue, pink and all the other cocktail colours I can think of!

For now though, I've just got time to add this little card to my collection.

I used  Tiddly Inks Clumsy elves which is available for you to grab in the shop at only $6.00 (which is about £5) and it includes other images too - so useful.

Along with the digi stamp, I used :-
white and green cardstock
Generic tag shaped die
acetate
sequin mix
gold pearls
Spectrum Noir marker pens

Here's hoping you have a fantastic weekend :)

Bird-day card

Hi all.

Here's a quick post just to show you my friends bird-day card!
I love these stamps and dies by Elizabeth craft designs which I bought from hixxysoft.com.
They're just really cute and the stamp "fits" the die perfectly. I've noticed that some die and stamp sets don't quite line up right and it can be really annoying but these are good.
My pal has her birthday the day after mine so it's quite amusing making her card every year as I think I ought to make myself one too!!!

So, apart for ECD dies and stamps for this, I used :
spectrum noir marker pens
generic patterned paper
white card stock and vellum by Crafters Companion
sequins

Have a great day and don't forget to join in with the Tiddly Inks challenge and Fab Friday (see earlier posts!)

Every month, we have a special Friday where we show some uber cute and super gorgeous Tiddlies all made by our talented design team and hope that we can inspire you to join us and have fun just creating!
This month, I've used Poppy Wryn for my quite "cross-Atlantic" coloured card! the red, white and blues on here could be UK or USA inspired but, either way, I thought she'd look lovely in those colours.

And, don't forget, we are still holding our Spookaboo challenge so do join in for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store!

Have fun peeps :)

You're 'avin a giraffe!

Hi all!
Well, just an update, as I've banged on about our moving home business but..........drum-roll please......we did it!
Yaaaay!
I am finally moved.
It was hell on earth and I AM NEVER DOING IT AGAIN - EVER!!!
I cannot believe how stressful it all was! I moved only 3 years ago but this time it seemed completely manic and different for some reason!
I had less to shift this time around as I did get rid of loads of "baggage" the last time but ....anyhoo, it was hellish!
However, here we are all "settling in" and getting used to living as a larger family again.
If you weren't aware, we (me. the OH and my son) have moved in with my daughter and her hubby.
A new home has been bought between us all (6 bedrooms tho we've converted one into my craftroom) so they have one wing and we have another!!! It all sounds very grand but, in reality, it's all about having space to live without crashing into one another all the time.
Apart from the weekends, we hardly see one another much at all - except for yesterday (18th) as it was my birthday and my daughter worked from home then we all went out for dinner.
Had a great day to be honest even though yet another number has been added to my existence on this planet!

Here's a little pic of the new gaff! (although the ends and the gardens are missing off this photo!!!)

As far as my crafting goes, I was really inspired to create this little card when I saw Christy's new creations over at Tiddly Inks store.
Luckily, as part of the design team, I was able to create before they were advertised in the shop, and that felt quite nice!

I coloured the baby and the mama with spectrum noir blendable pencils and fussy cut around them to make them part of the frame, which I die cut from Sizzix pierced rectangles.
Brown and green patterned cardstock were used for the base papers.

I hope you like these cuties.

I'll be back soon with some more Tiddly makes and maybe some Christmas stuff at last!!!

Winner winner chicken dinner!

Hi all!
I recently (Friday) entered a card comp on the Crafstash Facebook page with the theme NATURE and the #thinkingofyouweek #sendacarddeliverasmile tags.
Well, I'm pleased to say I won the Sara Davies (Crafters Companion) goody bag which looks really lovely!

This is the card I entered :

Louise at CraftStash got in touch with me to tell me I'd won and she said they'd fallen in love with the wiggly worm!
Well, who wouldn't? He's part of the image I purchased from Sassy Cheryl's stamps and it's all super cute :).

So, I'm in a happy place right now - even tho' I'm surrounded by boxes, boxes and a mess!

Designer For The Day!!!

Hi all!

I've been absent for a week or so as I had a little holiday-jaunt-type-thingy in Zakynthos with my lovely buddies - YEAH, Karen Kelly, this includes you! Thankyou for the surprise too!
I had another fabulous week away with lots of food, booze and sun - well, it was a little cloudy but, true to form, I still got a tan!
It's really lovely meeting up with faraway friends who can't just pop round for a coffee now and again - it makes the reunions all the more sweeter methinks!

So, not only have I had a holibob, I've also been given a moving date (sort of!). So, I'm spending time packing stuff, chucking stuff, sending stuff to the charity shops and selling stuff.............SO MUCH STUFF AND SO LITTLE TIME.
How on earth I'm going to pack up and dismantle my craftroom I have no idea! That will be the worst of the whole house!!!

I did come back to a nice surprise (kind of expected but it looks better than I thought it would), by having my card featured in Papercrafter magazine as part of their Designer for the Day series.

Here's the page :

It's actually a rich red and white card but the photo isn't doing it much justice.
I suggest you go out and buy the magazine (issue 113!) so you can see it better!!! lol x

Anyhoo, I've also been making another festive card for the Christmas issue of Papercraft Inspirations.
This has been made at lightning speed as I've another one to make for Quick Cards Made Easy magazine and my stuff (!) will be packed away soon.

Hope you all have a great week.

Fab Friday! It always is with Tiddly Inks!

 Hi everyone!
It's Fab Friday over at the Tiddly Inks challenge blog!
I hope you have a mooch on over there for some uber cute inspiration from the oh-so talented Design Team then wing your way over to the SHOP and have a good old look around for some tantalising images you can use with your crafting projects.
Even if you've some images already in your stash, why not join in and play along ? Add your design using the inlinkz tool at the bottom of the challenge post and sit back and relax! the fun work's done, now time to enjoy all the other projects too; maybe, visit the Design Teams blogs and leave a lovely little comment!

This special lady and her beautiful friend is  Magda and Sparkles.

If you choose this option, you'll be rewarded with a bonus of digital papers too! What's not to love?

After stamping the most gorgeous image, I coloured it with Spectrum Noir and Tonic marker pens.
I distressed the background with a little Tim holtz vintage photo then layered it onto Kraft card.
The mats and layers are also from Kraft card and I used a selection of papers from an unknown pattern book with a little lace, some twine, a couple of flourishy die-cuts, sequins, glitter and of course a lovely sentiment which I created on the pc and printed out.
It's not my usual style of card but, I thought this image worked really well this way.

Hope you've been inspired enough to pop on over to the challenge blog and join in!

Take care.

Published!!!

Hi all!

Just a quick post to let you know my latest card for Papercraft Inspirations magazine issue 170 (reader tester team) was published this week!
I was asked to create a card using some printable papers and elements and could make it Christmassy or wintry - whichever I liked!
So, I made it Christmassy as I think I could do with the practice as it's been a year since I last made Christmas cards! Lol

This is what I made :

As well as the printable papers and elements, I used a snowflake border die for the bottom of the front panel and pierced circle dies for framing the aperture.

That's all for now!

QCME magazine free gift project!

Hi all!

I hope you're having a lovely weekend.
It's a gloomy, wet and miserable day here in Leyland so I don't feel guilty about sitting in my craftroom and catching up with my blog and organising my "world" instead of being over at the new house doing stuff!!!
It makes a change NOT to feel guilty about relaxing for once!

Anyhoo, the title of this post is relevant to the card I made using the FREE GIFT with the QCME mag. I made it just for fun then decided to send it to them anyway as they do like to see what we make with their monthly gifts.

Products Used :-
The free papers and stamps along with some kraft card on a white card base.
Oval dies - plain and scallop edged.
Pierced edge "hillside" dies.
Snowflake embossing folder.
Spectrum noir markers.

Enamel dots.

That's it for today.
Enjoy the evening, wherever you are!

Tuesday 29 August 2017

Tuesday Again.

Hi all!
Hope you've all had a great Bank Holiday weekend (at least those of you here in the UK!).
We did really well as far as the typical British weather is concerned as it was actually a sunny weekend with hardly a shower to worry us :)
I have managed to make only one card this last few days but I can't post it yet as it's for a mag and, as usual, it's not good practice to post a project before it's published nationally!
The reason for my lack of creating is simple - I seem to be spending more tinme at our new house making tea and coffee for alsorts of workmen!
This last week has been utterly mental - plasterer, painter, electrickerer, and joinerer all in one day as well as the lads outside digging a new driveway for us!!!
My son helping with the new driveway.
This WILL look like my new bedroom - eventually!
The Upstairs hall in a mess!

Just a few boxes of paint............
Other days haven't been much different what with all the comings and goings. I did take some digi printouts to do some colouring when I could but, after a peaceful half hour, I was interrupted and never to return to it!
Anyhoo, it was warmer outside than sitting indoors so I did just that - and ended up feeling sleepy and I couldn't see the paper to colour!!! Massive fail!
This weekend hasn't been any different.
The darling OH came home late on friday night and didn't stop working all weekend.
I think he was happy to go to London yesterday for some peace and quiet.
There is still an awful lot to do before we move - even choosing home accessories is proving tricky as everyone has a different idea and, until the magic money tree puts lots more cash into our piggy bank, then we have to prioritise exactly what we can buy........................not alot right now!!! lol

So, unfortunately, I don't have an image to share with you today but I promise to do better this week    :(

Have a good week everyone.

Wedding Celebrations!

Hi all!

What a wonderful weekend has been had by myself and my family!
Our niece, Lisa, has married the love of her life, Ed, and it was fabulous.
A beautiful hotel, in beautiful surroundings with beautiful people in beautiful clothes - what's not to love at a wedding? !!!
I don't feel guilty at all for imbibing oodles of yummy food and scrummy cocktails either!

I'll pop one or two photos on here when I can but, for now, here's the card I made for them.

I used 2 LOTV digi stamps - the couple and the church background.
Aren't they just doozy? !

Products used -

Lili of the valley digi stamps
Frame die (can't remember where I bought it sorry)
Spectrum Noir blendable pencils
Spectrum Noir sparkle pens
Paper flowers
Silver ribbon
Flatback pearls.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend too  :)

I love the papers too! These were free with cardmaking and papercraft magazine and I think they're just fab for this card.
It's a simple style of card but I think the patterns and the image speak for themselves.

Tiddly Inks Carolling

hi all!
Hope you like todays card!
I used an uber sweet digi stamp from Tiddly Inks stamps and a selection of paper from Craftwork Cards (peppermint forest paper pad).
I also added a couple of wooden snowflakes from Dovecraft and I think the overall effect is very pleasing!

This is the first Christmas card of 2017 and I intend to make plenty more and I might just stick with the same colour scheme too!

Have a great day all

Sunday 13 August 2017

Sunny sunday!

Good morning all!
I hope you're all having a fab weekend after a truly busy week (for me anyway!).
How come some days just seem to drag when others totally fly and there doesn't seem enough time to do everything that needs doing? Strange!
If you're not aware, we have sold our house and we are going to move in the near future to "Southfork"!!! (who else remembers Dallas?)
And by that I mean a bigger house for my daughter, son in law, my OH, my son and me - so 6 bedrooms will do it!!! One of which will be my craftroom of course :)
Anyhoo, my daughter and her hubby moved on Thursday, and, as I was poorly on Friday, there wasn't much I could do to help so I made up for it yesterday.....I unpacked a box then found the wine and.............well, let's just say we've all got fluffy heads today 😉 Oops!
All in all we had a great day and I'm paying for it now but hey ho! That's how we roll here in sunny Leyland!
So, onto todays news.
This month, I have a card featured in Papercraft Inspirations magazine (issue 169).
As part of their Reader Tester Team, I occasionally have papers/images/stamps sent to me and it's up to me to make something out of them! The theme was "uplifting sentiments" and my challenge was to make a card using the papers they sent then add a sentiment of my choice.
This is what I came up with :

And here's the article (just to prove I haven't dreamt it!!!)

Did you join in with the blog hop at Tiddly Inks?
It was great fun and I know the other DT members really enjoyed it too.
Thanks for leaving comments and for visiting.

Have a great day

Pretty!

Hi all!

A little celebration card again for you today.
This little pretty was created using an ink blended background and die cutting to keep it simple. I paper pieced the cake die tho and that was a little time consuming as the pieces are tiny but, I then found a way to do it which wasn't so laborious!
I stuck double sided tape to the back of the silver die-cut ,then die cut another cake in blue which I placed over the silver die cut and pressed onto the pieces I needed to paper-piece and they stuck down perfectly as the sticky side of the tape was facing upwards! I could then discard any pieces that didn't stick and ....voila!!! All done!

Products Used :-
A6 card base.
The cake die was a freebie with a magazine (can't remember which one tho!).
Unbranded pierced edge circle die.
Unbranded sentiment die.
Ranger distress inks in wild honey and mermaid lagoon.
Vellum
Sequins.

That's it for now!
Have a good day x

Last week I totally forgot to post my BFF a birthday card :(
Yes, I know. Cardmakers do have the worst record when having to remember our own friends and family's birthdays but what can you do? Well, for a start, I did make a lovely card using digital stamps Wryn Snail Mail and Fairy Fae House from my favourite Tiddly Ink Stamps!
I thought I'd better post it so she'll have it at least on Tuesday but, what happened? She turned up this afternoon with her fella in tow for tea and a slice of cake and I could've given her the card but............oh well! Snail mail might just have to do this time!!!

Still, we did sort some deets out for our upcoming holibob to Zante so it wasn't a wasted visit!!!

Embossing folder - free with Love Cardmaking (issue 1)
