If you've just popped in from my Facebook invite, then..Hello and welcome.
This blog has only been up and running since the end of December 13 so it is all new to me and i'm still learning how to do things. My intention is to make it lovely! (but i would need to know how to do that!)
Have a peep at the cards i've made and if you like what you see, don't be afraid to let me know!
If you don't then...Sssssshhhhhhh!!!!!
I totally love messing about with paper and stuff so if there's anything you'd like me to make then please let me know. As I enjoy making things I'm not yet looking to make a profit on anything I make so if you would like something making, then I would only ask for the cost of the card and nothing more.
I also do scrapbooking (unsure what that is? Google it!)
I have made several albums up to now and if you'd like to see any please message me as, unless I've been given the ok, I haven't listed them online as they are not mine to list once they're done!!!!
Today I've endeavoured to do A - shopping, B - housework C - cleaning out the kitchen sink cupboard.
What have I achieved?.....A!!!!
Went to Tesco this morning and carried a basket instead of a trolley and actually bought just the bits I needed and didn't get tempted to fill a trolley so haven't spent a fortune for a change.
Treated myself to a sausage sandwich and a capuccino before coming home and not even tackling B and definitely not C!
I don't feel too guilty as I spent a couple of hours clearing out a few drawers in the bedroom yesterday. My other half has fewer socks n undies than when I got up yesterday morning!
Why do men have millions of pairs of socks n boxers? OMG far too many! Even more than me and I thought I had loads!
Still, the rest of today went like this
put shopping away
said good morning to son
entered craft room
made this card!
This is my second steampunk attempt and i quite like this one!
I used the Sassy Studio Designs Steampunk Victoria for the image which I coloured with my Spectrum Noir markers.
I quite enjoy colouring in!!!
Can you tell i'm bored yet?
Only kidding; I've just had time to play today so, without further ado, this is my entry into the challenge at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.
This is my first attempt at a Steampunk card. I only recently bought some cling stamps from Inkydoodles and ebay which feature time and cogs, so i had a go at using elements from the pack on the card.
7gypsies provided the sentiment as I have some rub-ons which I keep looking at and putting away again without using and I just hope you like it!
Earlier I said nothing much happens on a Thursday so I made it happen - another card for another challenge!
Actually, it has taken me most of the afternoon, just faffing about, to make it!
I used generice white cardstock for the card base, topped with black and white spotty paper.
I die-cut a scalloped circle from ivory pearlised card and mounted a white circle onto it.
I found the umbrella and boots image online last year and saved the jpeg for future use! Good thinking Batman!!!
Instead of printing and colouring the image, I paper-pieced it onto coloured card and used black glitter on the joins!!!
Anyhoo, it's my intention that it goes into the loved up challenge at Cardmaking and Papercraft.
Nothing much happens on Thursdays does it?
Today is different!
Darling daughter is starting a new job today so a massive round of applause goes to her and I know she will be brilliant and do the new company proud (just hope her team of staff behave for her!!!)
Last night I thought it would be a good idea to enter a challenge at Daring Cardmakers with the theme Belts/Braces!
I wondered how my idea would translate to paper............to be honest?...........it isn't how i envisaged it but here it is anyway.
Well what a disgusting day, weatherwise, it has been today :( .
Wind, rain, more wind and rain and now wind and rain....see the theme there?
We really shouldn't complain because, after all, it IS winter. The only thing missing is the finger-numbing cold and snow. Probably get that in March!
Been out to dinner this evening with darling daughter, super son and daughters' hubby. A pub close to us was closed down and refurbished into a new pub with restaurant - and it was very good! The food, for a pub, was given 8/10 from all of us which is a pretty high score really as we're quite tight when it comes to giving out marks!
Had time to indulge my crafty passion earlier and made this Tag to enter the following challenges :
Popped into Asda this morning for some bits n bobs and found they're selling a Valentine cupid heart stamp for £1 and I thought "I'd be daft not to buy one"!
So when I came home I made a card for the NEW challenge over at Cute Card Thursday! http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.co.uk/#
Using the new stamp, this is my entry and I've added a picture of the new stamp!!!
I had a brilliant weekend away - it was fab! The hotel was OK but our room was absolutely boiling yet Michelle and Jay told me theirs was cool! We even left the window open day and night and also turned the radiators down but to no avail - it stayed like the inside of an oven and I hardly slept a wink! We did try and find Michelle a hot water bottle in the city centre but i don't think people in Canterbury use them as we couldn't find one anywhere!
Today I couldn't be bothered doing a great deal so darling daughter and super son watched the new film 'Saving Mr.Banks' with me. And, it was good! You can't go wrong with Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson really!
This evening I decided to sort my challenge file out as I was getting very confused with weekly, bi-weekly, monthly challenges etc and now it's all organised into date order and I almost missed entering this card into the PHOTO INSPIRATION challenge at Addicted To Stamps and ANYTHING GOES at Through The Craft Room Door
On generic white card I used black stazon ink and stamped heart images and then, using wooden embellishment hearts from my stash, I covered them in bright inks and stamped inbetween the larger ones.
I decided to stick 3 of the wooden hearts to the centre of the larger heart images and then used a few shiny hearts stuck to the others. Silky purple ribbon sets it off.
